One thing I want to do is remind everyone is that is this not the place to debate wither or not Catholicism is right or wrong...personally I know many Catholics that are so on fire for Jesus that I have no doubt that their religion is good for them it is obvious that it is. The key thing here is believing that Jesus is our savior that is what counts I know several Jewish people that have accepted Jesus so my point is that let us not debate wither or not Baptist, Catholic Pentecostal or any other Christian churches ways are right or wrong. I may not worship like someone else on this forum but it doesn't make me any less a believer...just like it doesn't make Kathy any less of a believer...WOW I can't tell you how much I have learned and grown in my faith by knowing her... So let us stop this debate before it gets out of hand.

Blessings

Mae

Turn to the Good Book, Kathy, for all truth. It will settle all this in your heart. Set aside all of man's books and teachings, no matter how esteemed they are in the church, and no matter what ancient traditions they hold and no matter how revered the early church fathers are. They were all fallible, but God's Word is not. This is my earnest hope for each of us - that God's Word only will be "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path".

Unhappy Hi Mae

I wasn't aware I was debating. Oops. I thought I was encouraging folks to keep looking for Him in their own hearts, in agreement with your desire to keep this a nice place to be for a somewhat diverse collection of souls.

I was also trying to reassure you, Mae, that I am quite used to it, and unconcerned by it. Thank you, however, for coming to my defense and the defense of others who do not always understand things and reach where they are in faith and in Christ by the same exact path as others.

You are very complimentary there, of me, Mae. I'm glad my being here helps someone besides me. Jesus is smiling, I am sure, when we come in here and extoll him, or praise him, or express comfort in him. This is a nice, relatively safe place to come to meet others whose real passion is for Jesus.

I love that about it.

Like I have stated before I have no doubt in my mind that Kathy knows Jesus as her personal savior, just because she goes to a different church and worships differently it does not mean that she is off the well beaten path of the salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ... I personally find it offensive that anyone would judge her steadfast love of Jesus just because she does not worship in the same type of church in the same way. I would almost lay odds (if I was a betting person) that Kathy knows the good book better than most of us here. I have grown so much reading her posts in my heart she is an awesome sister in the Lord Jesus.

My ex father in law has gone to mass twice a day most of his life he is a true believer in the salvation of Jesus and a true Catholic from the word go and he is one of the most awesome Christian men I have ever meant and he was one of the ones that witnessed to me and helped me finally take the steps I needed so many years ago he mentored me even after I was divorced from his son, now that is Christian love he never gave up on me...

so now I am rambling so I will end my post

Blessings

Mae

Mae, I am sorry that you found my post offensive. I was encouraging someone who was asking some important questions to seek the answers in scripture. For by looing into God's Word, those sorts of issues can be settled in one's heart.

Mae i came at final stage of the sharing since i was not here. But reading all sharings boost up my spirit and now i am confirmed of who i am in christ .it's not at all the church and doctrines that help one to heaven but be transformed as paul says in col3/1-17Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.Halleuia!
