Why do I have to go to the church?

I am a christian. I believe God very much and love Him but I haven't gone to the church recently because I work on Sunday. In fact, I have gone to a church, which is in my primary school, since Form 4. However, I didn't like to go to the church as those christian are cold. I didn't talk with them and meet a friend in that church. I know I am not a kind person, but I tried to change my attitude.

Actually, I want to go to a warm church, but I don't know how to do it. Would you like to get me advice ?

P.S. My English is poor. Help you understand what I write.

Welcome JaaJ, well One thing you can do is come over here to the crystal cathedral and study on line. Dr bill has some classes that will teach you alot.
I went to church to study the bible. so mostly I enjoyed the bible study. I met people that way. You can also have church in your own house where you set aside time to study to spend time with God. I really havn't found a church that I like to spend so much time at but when I move to santa fe I will search one out. thats what it takes, you have to try different churches to find one that you like if you dont find one then make church in your house and come to the Hour Of power site to hear the messages and to read the bible studies. People are often so occupied with their own families that they can be cold they don't want other people who need friends around. You have to find the people who need friends too. Jesus is my best friend invisible but still works for me He communicates with me in many ways. I have other friends but since I am single and a bit socially challenged I spend alot of time here.

To answer your origional question, Church is so that you can spend time learning about God and so that you can spend time with people who are learning too. the bible says church is ment to help the people. God doesnt require that we go to church but ceremony is supposed to lift your spirit and help your faith. If it doesnt then make your own ceremony that will help you get closer to God.

Hi I forgot to tell you the most important thing, set your mind on Jesus. Know that you are loved period.

In all things ask God trust the powers ask Jesus tell Jesus everything.

get yourself some bibles or one bible. read it. call on the Holy spirit to read with you.

let good thoughts be your sword and shield God loves you.

Going to church isn't required for salvation, but it's an imortant part of one's Christian walk.

You can't put gas in your car unless you go to a gas station.
You can't replenish your groceries unless you to to a grocery store.
Likewise, you can't fellowship with Christians unless you go to church.

If the church that you know is cold, I invite you to find another church. FInd out what churches your friends attend, or see what other churches are in your locar area. Visit them, check out their beliefs, and pray about it.

Well jaaj I just had church . You can go to the Hour of Power thread and read my comment about Tony Campanolo and the service yesterday but watch the service all the way through, or not. some people love teachers that I dont resonate with. But I did resonate with this day in church at the cc.

any how, make church your way while your at home. remember God really loves you make sure Jesus is there. let Him in. Tell him everything and let good thoughts be your sword and shield.

even if you've sinned and we all have, God will make you new and keep all the best parts of you too.

by the way I go to prayer sweats with indigenous people and others like me Jesus is always with me. He blessed me to let me find this very old way of praying to the creator of all things so ... search for your church.

and I cant say enough about studying the Bible in your way. really the bible. study the tora study the new testiment study the old testiment . see it as the way people are or can be. see what jesus said and what he did. dont forget to call on the great spirit the Holy spirit. dont worry if you are wanting to get close to God He will be there.

I didn't know why I need to go to the church, but I have the answer now. I go to the church because I can learn the bible and meet friends in the church. I will pray to God and search my lovely church. I won't give up because God help me.

I am a student so I think study is the most important thing in my life. Therefore, I use less time to study bible. I know it isn't good. After reading your message, I decide to use more time to study the bible. When I study the bible, I will have power to face anything.

I do intend to watch H.O.P. services,but am not bound to any church.
I do not feel like i have to either (yet)
Don't like big crowded places too much,small groups feel more comfortable to me.Wherever i go,i know God/Jesus is with me anyway.
Faith doesn't start in stone walls,it starts in your heart after all.That, is real.
Maybe one day there will be a cosy little place for me aswell,but for now,watching services online,read my scriptures online,and listen to audio bible at same time(it is the same one),and this community, is very comforting to me.I can't see your faces,but i can feel the sincerity and love and friendship feelings all the same.Thank you Lord,for letting me join in this way.

Although attending church is not mandatory for salvation, the bottom line is you can't fellowship with other christians if you're not going to church. Scripture says that iron is sharpened by iron. Likewise, a believer is "sharpened" by other believers. Choosing not to be involved in a church can result in not being spiritually sharpened.

Jaaj, Churches are not perferct, they are full of imperfect people, but we should not let this imperfection keep us away from an authentic relationship with God and all the blessings he reserves for us. "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing.(Hebrews 10:25)".

Don't give up and search for a good church.
